Default DO ppl still PUG?

Just curious, I've been playing WoW since summer and haven't seriously played GW since. Heroes killed it all for me. It may seem different for all, but to me GW has become a Single Player RPG with chat rooms where you can run around (outposts). Thx Anet for supporting an Anti Social and Elitist community (zomg u forget dis skill, u suxorz, *kick)

Are you trying to convince us all to go play another game (say: WoW f.ex.)?
The game is what you make of it - join a good guild and go with them.
I for one do not miss the "old days" where you waited 20-30 min. for the 2.nd monk to complete your party.
Now its: me, 1-3 friends/guildies-heroes-go! (5 min tops)

Thank you Anet for not forcing me to play with people with attitude problems, short attention spans and no patience! (unless I actually feel like doing so!)

Ha, I kind of figured.

PUGs for HA? Last time I checked, if you don't bring your cookie cutter build and no vent, you suck. And even when I HAD both, I still wasn't accepted because I had no r3... Yet I have 1 mill faction, so I'm obviously no noob at PvP. But hey, that's like the working world of today. No college degree, no job, right?

And in what way am I trying to convicne people to play WoW? All I said was I played it, so in no way was I even stating any facts or opinions about the game. I still to this day don't understand why people bash the game, everyone thinks because so many people play it and you pay for a fee that it automatically sucks. It's a very good game, believe me, and there is loads of content to keep someone busy for a while.

Same thing with WoW, people in there think "omg lvl 20, wat nubs, crap game" when they obviously have no experience in it. I love it when people say "yea i played WoW i had like, a night elf warrior ranger (lol, no rangers in WoW), and it sucks" or "yea i had a lvl 20 in like 2 days in GW"... People are so naive... I guess I'm one of the few who likes both. But it just seems Guild Wars isn't as fresh anymore, maybe because I've played for so long. I will give GW2 a try of course.

People view the 2 as competetors, whereas I view it as 2 good games for myself to play and enjoy.

Despite "GW dying" or "being dead already", there's a steady influx of new players. As it happens, most of them PUG.

Meanwhile, the veteran players have settled through various guilds, play with people they know, and fill the spots with heroes. Or do everything with H/H.

So yes, people still PUG. But these days, you cannot expect much, the only exceptions are select few areas, such as Slaver's, where the chance to get a decent PUG are slightly higher.

Whether GW is alive or dead is mostly irrelevant - but as MMOGs go, it's an old game. And as such, players change.

But this truly is the best answer:

Funny. Last time I joined a PUG, I asked them to wait so I could set my build. Someone went in anyway, which meant I was really well prepared, with one single skill on my bar, namely rez sig.

I was invited in to a pug just now Idling in Chantry of Secrets
I said "Hi, what we all up to?" in team chat. No direct awnser (possibly uw). No role (build) description, no nothing.
Then I asked "Zomg I wunt to c ur l33d skillaz plzz." Then the most horrible builds came over the team chat. (Including a monk build with Healing + Minions w00t)

Pugging? I think not.

I usually pug for missions, but only if enough people are in the area to actually make one.

Yea but to be fair them kind of bars don't come up that often.

Problem with Pugs is leadership, aggro management, squishes in melee range

True true. Let's say there are 2 kinds of pugs. The one I was in where u get invited, and when in most people will shout go go go go.

Then there's the pug that actually works, where people communicate, and give out roles to follow. Mostly these pugs I only find, when I create them . Good pug == good leader in party

A thread I can finally say what I think about pugs, pugs = full of retards. I was forming a CLEAROUT fow group today afternoon, asked everyone if they all got like 3hrs time, checked builds and corrected some, however there are those typical idiots: one of them asks if we can do the beach I reply we'll do it later and 14yr old or probably even less as he was he quits, some other guy says sorry I have to go. So I learned my lesson, PUGS = EPIC FAIL *point*
